Airfare - checked.
Passport - checked.
Air tickets - checked.
What's my last bit? Wait for the day to arrive lor, what else? ;) My designer said, "You're so lucky!" Yeap, I agree. :) Cannot help it since I am adamantly asked to go. Haha!
The only thing is mum said, "You'd better save your own money for expenses hor. I've paid for the air tickets." Hah! No...it'll be on Daddy. :) Hehe. Bad kid, I am but well, I am mean.
-----
Designer j raised his voice at me today. Walau! You cannot keep up with the pace, you bottle up your stress and let the cork go at me? Cock lah you! Crazy. I look like a small, green & young girl you can bully huh? Please hor, I may be young and fresh in this industry (think not anymore) but I am also a human. A quick-tempered one. So if you'd want to thrash it out, let's see who explodes faster and more violent.
I've told myself to not be so quick-tempered. As colleague j adviced, I must curb this quick temper of mine. Yes, ma'am. I am trying.
Past week was splendid for dinner with cut6 (minus cellmate). First time, I became a villian. Being nasty to the cafe manager. But hey, his people had bad attitude, bad and DIRTY service! How can we tolerate DIRTINESS? NO WAY!! Bleh!
In any case, I shall accumulate good karma from now, as much as I can. Otherwise, I've to fork out my own money for the trip leh. Hehehe.

It's Approved.
Hip! Hip! Hooray! My 5-day leave is approved and so I was greedy and asked for leave (again) this coming Monday to go back home to do up my international passport and visa and what nots.
Yes, your truly here is so pathetic that I don't have an international passport. Been travelling to and fro Singapore with my lauyar blue restricted passport. Can or not? Sheesh.
So the boss' eyes turned bigger than goldfish (for the second time) when I asked for Monday off. But do I care? Hell la.
So, I'm one more baby step to flying. Yay!!

Dream Come True, Almost.
If everything goes smoothly, I'd be leaving on a jetplane to Melbourne on April 15th. IF, that is. Price wasn't as what aunt bh said. It's more than that. Sighs.
But this is almost a dream come true. As if wads of money dropped on me from the sky, no conditions attached. Just take and spend!
All expenses paid to Melbourne. Oh, I certainly hope it comes true! Thanks, papa & mama. Thanks, aunt bh. Thanks, gramps!

Spoilt Brat.
Some people deserves to be told off. I was only short of releasing the steam just now. Hello, in a small agency, one should help one another. You cannot always depend on us to pave the way for you so nicely.
A junior designer was tasked to do a brochure which the client specifically requested that the cover is an adaptation from a poster that was done by the previous designer. Hence, I traced back the job number and told her the file is in so-and-so's computer. Instead, she turned around and wants me to find the file for her. Harlow, I've already traced the file, job number and the source computer. All you have to do is to go to the specific computer and get the file. What is your fucking problem?
Barking at me saying that j (my Acct Servicing colleague) always do that. Hello, I am not her, alright! Plus, if the file has been backed up in a CD, I'd definitely trace the CD and put in the job bag for you; like I usually do.
So, you think I wrote this with much anger. But no, I wrote this with objectivity. Why can't she learn to be more flexible and resourceful instead of waiting for the silver spoon? So, I need to feed the food to your mouth, is it? Do I have to make you burp, too?
Grow up!!

The Graduate.
I have graduated from the roller blading class. But that is only Part 1 of my adventure. I'm still blading at a turtle speed. :( If only they held competition for slow coach, I'd emerge the winner, hands down.
In any case, it was fun. But there's so many things to learn and polish that I've set my heart to do. :D Will go practice every week (if possible) and will go to Part 2.
I woke up early to day (at 10.30am!!) to go for a swim-and-tan down at aunt sp's place. SO NICE! Her place is not fully occupied so I had the pool to myself for the entire morning and till early afternoon. Of course, staying out in the sun for so long has been what I've been yearning for all these while.
And the results? Tadah, I'm a roast pig!! ;)

I am no Bill Gates.
I had a "loose" week at work from Monday to Thursday. In came Friday when I thought I could scot off at 6+ in the evening. But hell, boss decided to ask me to do the PowerPoint for a client on the basis "...because I think you're quite good in PowerPoint." Hell, you think so because you don't even know the basic!
You think PowerPoint is no big deal. But the big deal comes in when the client request that we do up the template for them. You know, the "Master Slide" settings. You mean you don't know how to do that? The client wants us to "embed" the background so that they stay stagnant and look more professional. Hell, you're from a big company and you're implying to me that you small-fry secretary doesn't know how to do that.
Stupid, right? And you want this enlarged, this smaller, this and that. I stayed in office till 8pm to put up with your stupid requests. You want high-res, super sharp pictures but file size is limited to 500kb. Hello, I am no Bill Gates; I am only a humble person with no more than $500 worth of fortune under my belt.
You want cheap and fresh? Go look in Cold Storage, the fresh food people!!

Tasteless.
She said "Use my template. Prefers font to be in Arial." Urgh! We've had so much nonsense prior to this so-called "corporate branding" of my agency. We as in me and my Head of Art. She's in charge of the design, I'm in charge of the template and CI (as in font type, font size, spacing, etc).
When I proposed my (current) favourite font, Verdana, the boss said, "Aiyo, this font looks so dated. Can just use Arial? I find Arial is nicer." Fark, Arial nicer? Hello, Arial is so out of date! You're still living in the Arial age? My Head of Art & I exchanged silent comments on our common thoughts: BULLSHIT!! In the end, we managed to persuade boss to stick with Verdana. At least for a while.
Till this afternoon, she was still grumbling about how the company logo at the top is missing when she views from her lousy, old and out-dated iBook. Why? I don't know lar! You think I am Microsoft Office help is it? I don't know there's such thing as "linking" back in MS Word. Haven't had any problems at my side. And you asked me to use your template which is no different than mine, except you conveniently copied and pasted the necessary information from old documents and had everything in stupid and old Arial.
Idiot. You're drowning yourselves because this re-branding exercise for the agency aint's going to work. Head of Art's ideas were brutally murdered by you & your cartoon. Our advice fell on deaf ears. Fine. If you sink, you shall sink with the cartoon, happily. We'll swim and make our way to the shore. KANASAI!!
-----
A visit to cellmate's blog on this entry lightens me up and make me wonder: Successful/ impactful campaigns can be created by big agencies, is that true? I think the copy & tagline's very well crafted. They earn my respect. Singapore's Uniquely Singapore is just bleh-ly bland.

Enjoy Your Sunday.
Sundays are meant to be enjoyed. I stayed in bed till 2pm and woke up to some noises outside, no thanks to nasty neighbours who cannot be more considerate. Lazed around till I caught cellmate on MSN. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I got a V-day postcard from cellmate, too. Thanks hor. The message in it was sooooo encouraging. In any case, it was a pleasant surprise.
Dinner turned out rather well, compared to yesterday's burnt fish nuggets. Talking about it makes me boil. A day with no work, no worries, no stress is absolutely fun. I don't have to make mad rush(es) and can just take my time in doing my stuffs.
After a hard week at work, one should learn how to sit back and relax, enoy your weekend. With nice music and a good book is enjoyable, too. Only thing I am lacking is perhaps the member of the opposite sex to make my life more colourful because then, I can order him around. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Whist cellmate enjoys her "crush", I shall continue to google for more of his information. It's really a wonder what the Internet can do. It's more than you can imagine!

Neat.
Got my speakers for a reasonable sum of money from the annual IT fair @ Suntec. Neat, I'd say. Good quality for $23. Nice design for $23. Best thing is I can now blast without my lauyar in-built laptop speaker! Wooh-hoo!!
On the downside, I didn't get what I should have gotten:
1. socks for blading
2. Oral-B floss
3. shoes
4. tops
because I got out of office near 8pm! All because of a stupid client (who isn't even under my care!). Her 5 minutes equates to 20 minutes. Farking hell. Spoilt my mood for the evening, (nearly).
In any case, there's always a next time. Tomorrow I'll drop by Northpoint to get item 2 and shop for item 1. I usually fear shopping there because I end up with many shopping bags. Lack of self-control lah.

Game Over.
Clients, one by one are gone. All big players bade a goodbye. I mean ALL. Lost the much-dreaded-and-much-dragged (new year) campaign as well. Sighs! Boss didn't look happy at all and sort of vented her frusfration at anyone she could target. Head of Creative, unfortunately became one of them. Poor thing.
I think it's time to open my eyes bigger and scout around. No more company trip to Bangkok. :( I can only look forward to my own trip to Bintan with cut6 and to Pulau Perhentian with my #1's. How nice, I hope they happen soon. Nevertheless, I must save, save, save and save to make these come true.

The Fallen Devil.
Bad week at skating for me. Fell countless times even with coach around and fell (more) countless times when skating with shum. And, somehow there wasn't any speed. Sighs! Fell on my butt and it now hurts and feels funny sitting down. Had a badly bruised right thumb where I can see the blood clot. Wahahaha. Nevertheless, this is all so fun!!!
Next week will be the last week before I can hopefully graduate from the lesson. Whee!! Stomach's grumbling abit. Wonder if I can get food downstairs. There's night bazaar at the void deck which sells all kinds of junkie food (as usual). Sort of reminds me of BP's pasar malam but somehow the ones back home is merrier and more "grand" because we block off the entire road for the bazaar! Haha.
Scrambling for food.

It's over.
Finally, it's over. Good job, everyone! =) Accumulated tiredness, my designers said. We're all in need of good rest and Vitamin C (that's what he said). Haha!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! I cannot contain my short-lived happiness. It's finally over and done with. But from Monday onwards, it's back to the grueling office. Frankly speaking, stationed at Expo for the exhibition is not that bad. We don't have anything to do for the first half of the day and we can go home earlier than being in office. The thing is, our travelling time killed us. Badly! It's a whole hour, at least for me!!
Blading tonight with shum and lesson. Wah! I feel so happy. Haha...and yes, I've found out the young lad's name. Not through talking to him but peeping at his name tag! Hee hee.

Fuah!!
If only that PR agency's website provides pictures of their personnel. Haha. The writer is cute, oh~~
BUT...I haven't got to know his name. :( Everyone from the agency introduced themselves but him. Cheh. We were running around hurrying each other for articles and pictures. Such is the situation.
Today is earlier than yesterday because it's an eight page newsletter and main bulk of information came in early. Phew! Tomorrow's the last day and I hope things are getting better.
Funny thing is that Mummy thought I'd be a salesperson, selling furniture (like one of the exhibitors). Haha! Mummy really made me laugh.

1st March 2006.
Is gruesome and grueling. Though being stationed at Singapore Expo for one of client's exhibition spells A-W-A-Y from the office and other clients, it can get very stressful and ugly when information come in later and printer decides to go against you. A simple newsletter which should have been sent out for printing at 7pm drags till 10pm.
Tomorrow and the day after is a 8-page newsletter. I'm targeting 7pm. But let's see what time we'd be able to wrap up. I targeted 7pm today but it dragged. Fish!
Thank God, there were some little incentives to ease my anger. Some good looking ones from the not-so-pleasant-PR agency we're working with. One of them is actually quite cute leh! Haha. I'm there to work, but what will a lil' sneak-peeking do, right?
